ICT Magic

ICT magic is a fabulous site for finding out about new websites that can be used in lessons. The site sends out tweets about new sites about 20 times a day so well worth a follow as you often come across hidden gems. The list to the sub-menus is on the right hand side of the site of the page.  The site author brings out a useful PDF document every so often called *ICTmagic Show.

Cool Tools for Schools

This site is mentioned in the Bristol Scheme of Work for ICT and may be useful to fill in some of the gaps when  completing units you don't have the software for.

Let me know if you find any really useful ones on this site and I will mention them in this post.

Story Bird

One of the best sites I have seen.  The children select an artist and then create a story based around the images they have chosen.  Once the story has been created it can be shared or printed.  The books look really professional.

Crickweb

A good selection of teaching resources.

The sites are categorised for easy navigation.

Bristol Zoo - Animal Maker

Word Detective

This program was created along side the Online Picture Dictionary.  Pupils can search for words by sounds, or for words that "sound like" or simply browse for words by their letter.

This dictinary was created by i-board and has a really simple interface.  You can hear how words sound, add word to a word list and then play games with the words, such as word searches or test your spelling.
